Pizzas can be a guilty pleasure. Many people dedicate their lives trying to find that perfect pizza- pizza fanatics all over the world are eating hundreds of pizzas a year with the ultimate goal to find ‘THE ONE’. These blogs here (USA) and here (UK) are great pizza blogs!

Originally invented in Naples, Italy, a pizza is traditionally an oven-baked, flat, round bread typically topped with a tomato sauce base. Endless toppings and cheese are then added on top of this base.
However, today, pizzas can be found in many shapes and sizes. Not only is there thin and thick crust now there is deep-pan, cream base, no cheese, baked in a stone oven… and the list goes on.
Toppings can range from different meats to delicious vegetables. There must literally be hundreds of thousands different combinations of toppings out there. A single pizza can have anything from one to thirty different toppings.
Believe it or not, pizzas can also be found on the dessert menu. Chocolate, fruit and ice cream are typical toppings for a sweet pizza.

My personal favourite has to be a thin, wood oven baked pizza with a tomato base, fresh mozzarella, rocket leaves, parma ham topped with fresh shavings of Parmesan cheese.
What’s your favourite pizza?
